semi-final at Liverpool.
he leaves wife Judith, and a daughter, Natalya.

To Judith......
I was, I believe, one of Phil's first Clients, I even valeted his grey Jag coupe - remember those days? :) Rod, Claire and of course my Elaine, were a party not to be missed. I often think of Phil patting his Merc and telling me how I'd got it wrong - and of course.... he was right, as ever! Judith- my heart goes out to you - I was devastated all those months ago. Tonight, some considerable time later, as perhaps you re-read this (for whatever other reason would you log on) I want to let you know that we were touched by your man, by his greatness and by his warmth and humility. Behind ever great man is of course his woman and I cannot begin to imagine how you are without Phil and Andrew; my prayers and my thoughts are with you. Sleep peacefully Judith, God bless you and Natalya x - Michael Carr-an old friend
Its christmas time & nothing has changed to make things any easier, still miss you dreadfully but sometimes when the sun shines, when shadows appear on the ground and when a cool wind softley blows I know you are both here & that is a good feeling.Happy Christmas to you both much love always, Ghia xxxx
Every once in a while God creates a perfect person and I believe he created you and Andrew with that in mind. You are missed so much by everyone and there is not a day goes by where I don't think of you both, sometimes thats with a smile and other times its with enormous sadness. You both touched my life in a way I can not explain but I feel honoured to have had what others so dearly wish for and that was your love.Miss you both dreadfully. All my love always Ghiaxxx
Remembered with fondness
Shocked, Stunned are two words of the news of Philips death. Could tell by the photo it was him..............
My memories was of a quiet shy polite lad who I had a crush on at some point in our school life.
Nothing happened but he made such an impression that he was one factor towards naming my only son Philip xxxx
Whilst I would not say I knew Phil as well as some, he was always a pleasure to meet and oddly it todays motor trade an honest man. I was an honour and please to have worked for the man.
Fond Memories
I knew Phil as a young man, up to the age of about 15 or 16. Our families were close back then, and we spent a lot of time together in and out of each other's houses and on some memorable summer holidays. Phil was three years older than me, and I looked up to him; it's probably fair to say that there was a bit of hero worship going on. It was pretty apparent even then that he was going places. I last saw his mum and dad, Joan and Tom, two years ago, at my parents' Golden Wedding celebration, and they were so happy and so proud of everything that Phil and Judith had achieved. They and everyone close to them must be going through the most terrible time now; I just hope that they can take some comfort and strength from the huge number of loving and supportive tributes that have been paid to Phil and Andrew. Love and Best Wishes x

Top Man
I had the pleasure of working with Phil at Sagola some 16 years ago he was a super nice man with amazing talent and vision. My thoughts are with Judith and all the Family at this time.
God Bless You All.
Thanks for all the kind thoughts
I am overwhelmed by the kind words and heartfelt condolences received during the past few weeks. After being told of this site I felt compelled to add my own few words of thanks to everyone on both sides of the Atlantic. Your kindness is deeply appreciated and will never be forgotten. My family and I are very grateful.Thank you.
Reading through the kind messages that have been posted, makes me feel very honoured to have met such an inspirational man. With such a large organisation and ever increasing number of employees Phil always took the time to stop and talk to me and many more I'm sure. Phil, you have built a hugely successful business that has the building blocks and strategy for continued growth; however one can't help but think there will be something missing.... My deepest condolences to the Carter family.
