Phillip died in a helicopter crash, he was flying home after watching Chelsea’s Champions League
semi-final at Liverpool.
he leaves wife Judith, and a daughter, Natalya.
Phillip's 17 year old son Andrew, friend Jonathan Waller, 42, and pilot Stephen Holdich, 49,
also died in the crash.
Sadly Missed.
I couldn't beleive it when Kristina Hayley called me to let me know. I was in shock. I couldnt beleive this could happen to such a Happy, geniuine person. Although i only met Phil maybe twice, it is still very sad to hear. My thoughts are with the family. Im sure the employees of Carter and Carter will keep the good spirit of Phil going throughout the company as he would have wanted. Rest in Pease Phil.
With Deepest Sympathy
Heartfelt wishes go out to Phil's family at this very sad time. For someone to be taken so young just does not seem fair.
My Hero
thanks Judith for being so amazingly strong yesterday, I dont have too many words except to say that Phil was my hero and I adored him and his smile. Hope you and Taly will smile with the memories, we all should. I will make sure that I respect his legacy and revel in his extraordinary presence which is very much with me. No more one word emails!
Deeply sorry for your loss.
I sadly never got the chance to meet phillip. However there has not been a day that has gone by since i heard the news, that i have not thought about Judith, Natalya and family. My heart goes out to you at such a tragic time. I fail to understand why the best are always taken first.
Our deepest condolences to Judith and Natalya, Tom, Joan and Paul at this terrible time. Thank you for the opportunity to say farewell to Phil and Andrew yesterday, your bravery was astonishing. Phil gave us the opportunity to create a wonderful life for our boys and it is tragic that your boys have been taken from you. We will always remember the happy times we had together. Our thoughts are with you all.

An Inspiration
I cannot begin to imagine the sorrow that Judith, Natalya and the family are going through. Our thoughts and condolences are with you. I feel privileged to be able to say I worked for Phil and proud that I have now rejoined Carter & Carter for a second time; I was lucky enough to work in Peterborough at Greenhill House when it was the Carter & Carter Head Office and the warmth and encouragement that Phil exuded was a inspiration. Despite being focussed on building Carter & Carter for flotation, Phil always, always stopped and asked after us - how business was, of course, but also, how WE were. When he was on his feet at the Conferences, you just knew the business was going to go places because of his passion and leadership. The world will be a worse place for your passing.
Stunned and shocked, still now. My sympathy and love goes to Judith and Natalya who have been separated from their loved ones. Phil has remained in my thinking (arguably too much so!) on many days since leaving C&C nearly 7 years ago. His approach to business, projects, strategies, relationships, while not always the same as mine, would be a benchmark, something to check against. In a number of ways he 'trained' me to create the business I now enjoy, and will remain part of my drive for growth and further success. Thank you Phil, blessings to Judith, Natalya, and all my old colleagues who will also have been affected by this tragedy
I knew Phil for 23 years, he was my boss for 16 of them. Never ceased in all that time to amaze me with his vision drive, energy and enthusiasm when the rest of us were on our knees. Always affectionately referred to him as 'Dad', he was bigger than me, knew more than me and was pretty much always right. He also guided and developed me as a person. It was an amazing roller coaster ride. We will probably not meet the like again in our lifetime. Phil will be so sorely missed by so many. If you receive a text from a withheld number asking if you've closed it yet, you will know who it's from.
Rest in Peace Phil and Andrew
